An SCMS paper was published online by 《Inventiones Mathematicae》

Top mathematical journal Inventiones Mathematicae has recently online published the paper “Quasimap wall-crossing for GIT quotients " . It is authored by Yang Zhou, a young investigator (eq. assistant professor) who recently joined the Shanghai Center for Mathematical Sciences. This is the fifth research paper authored by researchers in Shanghai Center for Mathematical Sciences appeared in one of the top-four mathematical journals this year. The mentioned paper appears online at https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00222-021-01071-z.

This paper proved the wall-crossing formula for quasimap invariants conjectured by Ciocan-Fontanine and Kim, which gives an explicit equivalence between the Gromov-Witten invariants and stable quotient invariants in all genera. The key to the proof is a universal geometric construction on the moduli of weighted curves, called entangled rational tails by the author. This is an important result in the study of the mirror symmetry principle that arises from superstring theory.

Dr. Yang Zhou studied at Zhejiang University from 2009 to 2013 and obtained his bachelor’s degree. He received his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 2018, under the guidance of Prof. Jun Li. From 2018 to 2021, he was at Harvard University as a postdoctoral fellow.
